About the Artist:
Karina's roots stem from a small country town located in the Ore Mountains of Germany. Her love for nature and the outdoors, especially hiking and mountain climbing motivated her to move to the Austrian Alps, where she was inspired to paint mountain portraits. Always being fascinated with the North and it's unique vastness, her adventuresome spirit finally carried her to Alaska, with it's depths being reflected in various paintings. Karina's scenic landscapes represent real experiences and feelings which seem to capture the shapes, colors and special lighting affects one associates with nature. Her paintings are canvassed in either oil or pastel. Since 2007, she has lived with her husband in Alaska. Many more enthusiatic impressions from the North.... waiting to be expressed on canvass.
